When you are dealing with problem gambling, alcohol, drugs and/or food, it is important to know that you are not alone. Neither are you broken or "dysfunctional". You are a person trying to be the best you can be, but struggling in an addictive cycle with substances, behaviour or relationships. You may feel like you have tried everything to stop the cycle and that nothing has worked.
Tracy provides help and hope for recovery from addictions or problem behaviours that is non-judging and sensitive. Her approach is balanced: that means being spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically and socially focused . Recovery from this perspective is a multi-layered process of developing a positive self worth, making healthy choices and re-discovering purpose. It is about re-gaining a connection in work and relationships. It is not about beating yourself up or throwing in the towel.
Everyone is different so sessions are individualized to the client's needs. No one should feel bad about seeking help - at Healing Edge - people are treated with respect and compassion. Tracy believes that no matter how troubled someone is, that person has strengths and resilience. She supports her clients to build courage for making changes. She has a track record of gently helping people to break through personal barriers and challenges.
The counselling a person receives is confidential and motivational. Talking about concerns can be augmented with meditation, guided imagery, art- making, EFT and Mind Body Bridging. All of these techniques are proven to enhance the healing and recovery process.
Tracy Fehr has over 20 years of addiction, mental health and trauma sensitive counselling experience. She is a certified Mind Body Bridging (MBB) practitioner with specialization in substance use/addictions. Tracy is trained in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), an intervention that, like MBB, lessens cravings and reduces strong negative emotional reactions.
